I have a 64 Valiant with a push button automatic. With some regularity the engine will not crank but after pushing a a few buttons, in random combination, it will eventually crank. I am sure it is in the Neutral safety circuit but I am unsure as to where. I have checked the wire from the firewall to the switch and all seems to be in order. Before I just replace the switch itself I was curious as to others experiences with this. Could it be in the buttons themselves? Is the switch easily replaceable and attainable. Any comments would be welcome..thanks, Mark |

this should be the part you need. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1964-68-CHRYSLE ... 55&vxp=mtr check the connection on the nss at the trans. too. it might be helpful to have an assistant wiggle the wire down on the trans to see if it is loose. Greg |

Charlie, You nailed it. I happened to notice when I put it in park the idle went way down, duh, the thing was still in gear albeit slightly. Put it in nuetral and idle went right back up. Now to break out the service manual and see how to do the adjustment..thanks my friend |
