Anyone have any idea what the difference is between a clutch disc for an a-230 three speed versus one for an A-833OD? My 1979 manual and parts book list a different number for the disc, more springs in the OD one, but dimensions are the same. Just curious as to why there would be a different disc needed. Flywheel, pressure plate, throwout bearing list same number for both trannys.

The 3-speed part is likely just slightly lighter duty. It used to amaze me the pennies pinched. I'd bet a dollar that the replacements are identical.

All the aftermarket "stock" replacement discs cross reference to the same 9 1/4" or 10" discs from all 2 or 3 manufacturers of them...and they work fine for either application although the car 3 spd bellhousing is a bit tight for the 10" clutch...
