 Post subject: fuel pump pick up

Hi guys, wanted some advice when installing a in tank electric fuel pump ( new stealth 340 pump) how much clearance should there be between the bottom of the filter sock and bottom of the tank ??

43 looks and no replies ?? c'mon guys how far off the bottom of the tank should this be ??

in the ones ive changed over the years the sock just touched the bottom of the tank. ive had a couple 90's car that were actually spring loaded when you put the assembly in so you had to push down to lock the ring. so pretty much as close to the bottom as you can get it and still maintain flow.

thanks Junior, i figured as much, its kinda hard to see inside the sock to get an idea on how close you can get

i would get it as close to the bottom as you can. assuming the tank is clean you shouldnt have any problems.
