Short and simple, my 72 Valiant has a leaky carb and I need some suggestions, My grandfather says after I drive it for a while it may seal up, but my uncle believes I should just rebuild it (My whole family is a Mopar family). I want to think my grandfather would be right because with age becomes wisdom, but I want to hear from you guys what you believe I should do. I don't know what kind of Holley it is. I've only rebuilt an ATV carb before so I have little experience. Thanks in advance,
Kyle

Here is the carb. The arrow points to where it leaks.

That is a 1920 Holley, you can barely make out the carb numbers stamped on the air vent.

Go to the Engine FAQ section and down load the manual.

Correct float height and installing a new needle and seat will help.

The link to the 1945 manual is broken, do you have the manual or another link to it?

Thanks!

Here is the Holley 1920 operation and repair manual. Discussion threads about 1920 repair are here, here, and here, and there's a big discussion thread about 1920 modification & upgrade here.

Huh. Looks like all of the carb manual links are broken. Looks like Dan pulled the plug on the U225 site?

Again that is a 1920 Holley......
The needle and seat are shot if it leaking up there!
If it is leaking that high the float setting is way off.....
Reset per the instructions per the rebuild kit......
My preference is the Walker Kit.

If you don't want to buy a kit, just get the needle and seat and set the float level. This takes about 10 minutes to install and set correctly. You can do it while it is on the car.
