Can someone help me with the paint code ID for my 85 truck. I bought it back and have some parts to start painting but can't find the code to order paint.

The tag under the hood is unreadable. And the one on the dood does not have a paint code that I can see. Under the cowl is another tag and a bunch of numbers. Is one of them a paint code.

Color is a Charcoal Gray or gun Metal color.

Thanks,

Rick

www.autocolorlibrary.com used to work, but it looks like they are revamping the website.

My 1983 Dodge van factory service manual lists a body paint color of "Charcoal Gray Metallic", paint code AA9, Ditzler code 3495.

You should be able to cross the Ditzler code to all other paint brands.

There is also a "Light Silver Metallic", but I doubt that would be mistaken for a charcoal gray.

I seen two different dark gray colors for 1985 dodges on the web, but I can't tell which I have. Someone should be able to point me to the right numbers on the metal tag I would hope.

On the metal tag under the cowl panel. Look at the 3rd row up from the bottom, and you will see 3 sets of 3 numbers/letters. The middle set is the paint code. Mine was PA9. "P" for paint and A9 being Charcoal Gray. Maybe it will help someone else.
