Almost there for me. I mocked up the plate on the 68 Dart recently while I had the A500 trans out to swap to a supposedly higher stall converter. It did not stall much higher, so I'm ready to go ahead. Need to wait a month or so to have all the money, but then I plan to order from Extreme Automatics.

Did you get the stage I or II or? I'd love to speak to you about the converter when I get a little closer in a few weeks.

Thanks and all the best,

Lou

Wilcap made up a batch of about 12 kits about 2 yrs ago. I did the group buy and do not have the patience to do it again soon. They might make a single one for you for $700-750. Kits include alum adapter plate with 2 starter locations, flexplate/ring gear, crank-flexplate spacer, and bolts.

lou, i have a stage 1. should be fine for how i am using it. stage 2 is 500 bucks more but probably worth it if you are gonna run it hard.

has been trouble free and has not needed any readjusting so far, and everything has worked as advertised. the more throttle you give it, the harder the shift. :D :D

i wasn't too sure i was gonna like the driving characteristics of the 200r4, but after a few months driving it, i am loving it. a real fun setup.

looking forward to seeing your results. give me a shout anytime.

Lou, how would that A500 work behind a truck doing minimal towing? Say a 85 Dodge D100 for instance?

Well, it has stood up to 320-340 HP on the dragstrip and loaded down going through the Rockies and Sierras...

I think it would be fine. It would fit a full size truck a lot easier than an A-body, that's for sure.

Maybe we should talk if you ever decide to sell yours down the road

I am open, but have not made a decision yet. We can talk at M-D, or earlier if I remove it before then.
