This is how the choke was set-up when I bought the truck Image

After removing the pull-off I see this Image

Unless I am mistaken this is the late exhaust manifold ( truck is a 73 with engine of un-known year )

Carb is a 1920, what do I need to find to get all of this working again?

Truck is fairly easy to start but I know it would be easier if this were set-up as it should be.

Would one of my choke pull-offs from my 1945 set-ups work. Havent even compared the difference in linkage yet.

I got this today Image off a mid sixties Dodge. I dont know if it will work for my 1920 Carb but I do not see why not.

The carb on the car looked very much like the one on my truck.

I do not know up until when they used the 1920 carbs on slants so I am just feeling around for one and bringing home what I think might work.

What do you guys think, surprisingly this one is in very good shape underneath where the spring ect is. Just needs a good blasting on the outside.

The early choke (even if the one you found were in good shape, which it isn't) won't work well with the late exhaust manifold. Either get the correct original-type choke for the exhaust manifold and carburetor you're using (in your case, you'd need a relatively scarce 1973-only item, either the truck type without heater or the car type with heater plus the associated choke control module) or save yourself a bunch of fiddling around and nonworking, and get a #1231 Electric choke kit instead.

Ill assume it wont work well cause the late exhaust manifold has the open side. Thanks, makes sense
