OK, so my only book in hand says the radio will have a black wire, an orange wire, and speaker wires......simple.
MY radio only has a black wire and speaker wires, IS THE BLACK WIRE THE POSITIVE IN THIS SITUATION? and the chassis is to be grounded?
I want to test this, and NOT blow it up.LOL please help..... Thanks in advance.

On my 1964 wiring diagram, yes there's an 18-ga black wire from fusebox to radio. Orange is 18-ga positive for instrument lamps. Strangely, they forgot to indicate a ground in the diagram, so it looks like the radio is "hanging in midair from a single wire". :D Bet it works really well that way...

PS. yes, you already knew the answer about grounding... 8)
