A guy is selling 2 of them locally. Just wondering what you guys think of that carb. |

The glass bpwl cover was used for years, but due to the possibility of breakage was replaced by metal. Richard |

Thats tough, never seen them before, couldnt figure out what you guys were talking about. What was the point behind that? Were they avail for the BBD? |

Not available on the BBD since the entire center casting of the carb would have had to have been glass. Available to be able to diagnose fuel isses. Clean fuel? Fuel flow? Float setting? Crud in the bowl? Etc…. No need to disassemble the carb to check tose things since the bowl is glass. |

Glass bowl: nifty and keen but very dangerous. Fits on a 1920, but you lose the anti-slosh baffle present in the 1920's metal bowl. 1904 carb: Way, way, WAY smaller than you want to use, even as a pair. How 'bout a pair of new Webers? |

The Holley 1904 was, in fact, an actual, real, gen-u-wine car and truck carburetor. Ford and International put Holley 1904s on various inline-6 engines in the '50s through early '60s. |

Thanks for sharing! The whole concept of a glass carb bowl and the info above that that were put on actual auto engines just boggles my mind. I wold havae liked to have seen one new in a showroom and heard the sales ptich around that. |

I used to have one. Can't remember what happened to it. All cars used to have glass sediment bowls on them. They were pretty mucha fire hazard. |

The Holley "Visi-Flow" carburetor, it was called. It really is boggling, isn't it, to think what was done back before any real consciousness or understanding of vehicle and traffic safety, eh!

Now I want to rig one up on my race car and see the looks on their faces in tech inspection....!!! LOL I have seen numerous old glass bowl fuel filters and water traps but not carb bowls. |
