I'm draining the ancient fluid from my A-250. Factory calls for dexron but, of course, gen-1 dexron hasn't been made in years. Anyone aware of any issues running the widely available dexron/mercon or dexron-iii formulations. I'm pretty sure this is a non-issue, but I want to ask before I pour something in and, later, learn I made a mistake.

Dexron III /Mercon would be fine.
Dexron IV and Mercon V aren't the same as the old stuff and I wouldn't recommend them as a general replacement.
