OK, I am stumped on this one. The subject is the right passenger side motor mount for a 225 /6 in a '62 Dodge Dart. The applications all come up with the same wrong part with one stud on top which is this: http://www.deaproducts.com/deaVideos/De ... eano=A2303 The closest I have run across what looks like the mount that I actually have in my Dart is for a '64 A100 van, with 2 studs up top and one on bottom offset from center, and which looks like this: http://www.deaproducts.com/deaVideos/De ... eano=A2234 The motor mount bracket off the block has 2 stud holes, and the mount to the K member has one stud offset forward of the center line of the mount. This A100 mount is close but I have no dimesnion info to tell if it will actually fit. So, I wanted to ask if anyone had any other old applications info that could help match this '62 Dart /6 passenger side mount up with another application so I can be sur eon the cross reference. Thanks for any help! |

I'm not sure if the 62 Dart uses the same or different mounts then the Valiant. The 62 Dart is a large car, not an "A" body. The mount you showed number 2303 is a left (driver) side mount. The right (pass) side is a 2304. These are Valiant parts, but rock auto shows the same mounts for the 62 Dart. |

The '62 Dart is a B-body. It needs B-body mounts. The 2303/2304 mounts are '62-'66 A-body mounts that will not fit or work in a B-body such as a '62 Dart. The '62-'65 B-body Slant-6 engine mounts are NLA through normal parts-store sources. Get them from Old Car Parts Northwest. |

Thanks guys, Yes all the online apps list the A body mounts for this B body; the driver's side A fits but the passenger side does not match at all. (And BTW, don't be confused by the DEA left vs right; sometimes they ID their mounts as if you were looking from the the front of the car towards the back....) I had checked the Old Car Parts NW site before and found nothing but just went through it again since you suggested it, Dan, and viola, there they are listed. Their listing for the 62 B body slant 6 cars is EMM2234.....which is the same base number as the DEA part I had. Soooo, that is looking promising. Thanks! That is what I needed. So do I get the $24 OCPNW part or the $4 DEA part? OCPNW has a "Doan Replacement Parts" brand, never heard of them. And here is a new twist... I went back to the DEA site and for grins looked at '62 Plymouth Belvedere /6.....same chassis as the '62 Dart....and it shows the 2234. (But still the wrong trannie mount which is for an A body.) |

Doan/Anchor is a very long-established engine mount supplier. You cannot reliably look up parts on OCPNW's website -- you have to call them. $4 DEA part is compressed cowshìt from India or compressed unwanted little girls from China. Wanna do the job every few months? Buy the DEA part. |

LOL Very good; I did not know on Doan. It would be good to have properly made parts. I have dealt with waaaay off rubber durometer parts on strut top mounts on strut cars and understand the problems of some of the new rubber suppliers. So the OCPNW website is not up to date? (There are pix with this PN and the one side shown looks right.) Or is it a mtter of stocking? |

Old Car Parts Northwest is worth calling and speaking to the guy. I have been to his warehouse/store and it is amazing. Boxes and boxes of NOS and gently used parts. He is a one man outfit, and is a retired guy, but he is very nice and worth supporting. +1 on the cheap motor mounts being crap. I have had new motor mounts wear out in a matter of months under a slant six driven gently. Don't buy the cheap crap brands. |
