Pretty sure I saw it here.

Quite some time ago (probably years ago), somebody mentioned an online store that stocked just about every imaginable type of fitting and fastener, automotive and otherwise. A selection way beyond what's usually stocked in your neighborhood hardware store. The applications covered a broad range. I think they also stocked other, specialized equipment for various trades.

I thought I had it bookmarked, but can't find it. All I can remember is that the company title included the founder or owner's last name (unless my mind has already gone even further around the bend than I realize).

I know that's not much to go on, but it's all I can remember. Does this strike a familiar chord with anybody? Anybody who maybe lives on a small farm and has to do frequent, seat-of-the-pants fabricating?

I'm not talking about Fastenal.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome. Shop around if you can though, they are usually (way) more expensive if the same thing can be had elsewhere.

Yeah, I'm gonna hit the local Fastenal tomorrow (closed today), but I'm thinking ahead in case they don't have what I'm looking for.

Mcmaster is amazing. It is worth paying some extra to keep them in business.

Hears the link. They don't like to send catalogs until after you purchase from them.

I wanted to give them a chance before on more then one occasion but I've always stopped when I remembered this - they won't show you shipping charges before finalizing.

Special ordered it a couple days ago from local Fastenal. Came in this morning. No bargain, but sometimes ya gotta have what you gotta have...

I'm curious, what were you looking for exactly and how much did you get it for?

Non-automotive application. 3/8" X 24, flathead, hex-drive bolts/machine screws. Most hardware stores stock some fine thread fasteners up to 1/4", but bigger than that they're all coarse thread, at least around here. These fasteners had to go into a threaded, cast iron hole and the heads had to be flush with the surface (for minimal clearance), so coarser-threaded hex, round-head or cap screws held secure with a nut weren't really an acceptable alternative.

The price was absurd. They basically hosed me, but I wasn't able to find them anywhere else and need the item (a table saw fence) up and running ASAP. I'd already wasted time checking several hardware stores and come up empty. The factory bolts provided by the the manufacturer of fence were completely wrong, so I will be taking the issue up with them. The factory holes are counter sunk but the fasteners provided are cap screws with heads that stand 1/2" pround of the surface. Dumbass QC asleep on the job...

Interesting. Take a pic when it's all together, I'd like to see it to visualize the situation.
