Post subject: | Help finishing super six swap |
HI, I have been trying to finish up a super six manifold swap on my 71 Duster and I finally got around to putting it together and realized I am missing some critical parts. I have the whole linkage part that bolts to the manifold and the long rod that runs down for the kick down. I am missing the parts where the rod is connected to the trans. I think I am missing the spring, the bolt pivot piece and maybe the specific arm for the trans. Is the arm on the trans itself different? I also noticed the pivot for the shifter linkage looks like it may be the same as the part for the kick down rod, Is it? I have checked the salvage yards around here and can't find any early model cars at all. Please please let me know if anyone has these pieces and I want them bad! Or if anyone has any ideas for a solution. I don't want to do a lockhart cable ext because I almost have everything. |

I don't think you're missing any pieces, but others should chime in if I'm wrong. At the bottom of the long super six kickdown is a spring and the bolt pivot piece. The arm is not specific. The bolt pivot is the same as the non-super six piece so you should be good to go. |

I climbed under again and the kick down rod connection is different. The old set up is just a rod bent with a cotter pin. So I need the spring and pivot. If anyone has these I'll pay big bucks!!! |

Post in the parts wanted section too and you might have better luck. I wish I could help but I went the bouchillon route. |

You may want to try switching to a cable style kickdown. You can get them for under $30 on eBay. |
