Hi 80aspanade
I think a good place to plan an upgrade of your car and engine, is the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) in the engine section. Among other vital tips, there is an Engine Build Matrix. It will probably give you some guidance. Have you browsed the Articles? Lots of info! (link in the FAQ).
I suggest you start by diagnosing your engine and driveline, and bring them up to specs. What work do you need to do? Do you have to bore out the cyllinders? Do you have to replace the valves in the cylinder head anyway?
Step two would be to ensure your running platform - the car - is in decent order, and fit to take the upgrades.
Step three would most likely be connected to money; what is your spesific performance goal, and how much do you want to spend to get there? Do you have a list of workshops nearby, that you can trust to do the machine work?
Then you can start to collect the parts you need.
It's an educational process, and a lot of work and frustrations, but extremely rewarding when you see the result! We're here to support you. Good luck! :D

Olaf
