Whats the hot setup to put an antisway bar on the front of my 64 Dart ?Anybody done it and have a recommended company to get ahold of ? (SL6 powered of course)

Last I head Addco was about the only game in town for aftermarket sway bars, unless you get really luck and find a factory swaybar setup. I may be wrong though. |

The rear mount for the Addco bar is fine. The front mount for the Addco bar sucks. I improved the front mount to make it acceptable. (for less cost than the firmfeel setup) |

looking for good handling the most. I have some talented people to help install it. I just spotted a Hellwig bar in the Jegs catalog for around $270 seems a little pricy hopefully it is a better fit than the Addco bar |

Firmfeel will likely be better than Hellwig, and about that price. Addco will require some hours of fab time with a welder and some plate/angle steel. Lou |

Now you made me curious- I'll have to crawl under the front of my 63 Valiant & see what I did years ago. It was an Addco bar & their tinker-toy mount setup never made it onto the car. I recall doing a fair bit of welding & fabricating. I'll see on Monday. |

There's a Guy over at FABO selling a Helleig bar for an early A. I bought one for my wagon and looks like it will be pretty easy to install, especially using factory LCAs with the correct sway bar tab. |

Thanks everybody I forgot to add that I switched over to the 69-72 small bolt pattern Disc Brakes. Does that change anything ? |

It depends- you usually can't fit a front sway bar to a narrow body A with discs unless the calipers are mounted to the rear of the spindle. I don't recall the sbp K-H disc setup. I went with lbp single piston discs- that required swapping the spindles L-R to get the calipers towards the rear. |

So if you do a LBP disc brake swap from 73-76 abody into a early 63-72 abody to use a sway bar the calipers need to be mounted to the rear of the rotor ?. What is needed for this ? I read look out for brake lines ? I will be putting braided lines on . Then install either firm feel sway bar Or hellwig sway bar Thanks smitty |

I have 74 discs on my 65, calipers front, and used an Addco bar. I bent the ends of the bar inward slightly (1"ish) which cleared the calipers and gave me a better end-link angle to boot. There's always going to be a little 'fine-tuning' needed on any install, but it's nothing that can't be done. Lots of options... |
