Hey just installed a Cheetah Reverse Manual Valve Body on my 904 Torqueflite and a Hurst Promatic 2 shifter in my 74 Dart Sport. The Valve Body works great my question with that is in the instructions it mentioned "if the transmission is out you can disable the governor valves". Is that necessary? It didn't elaborate beyond that. Anyone else install one of these before? Could use some input.

The Hurst shifter I installed is having problems fully engaging/locking into place from N-1 1-2 and 2-3 but works perfect fine when going the opposite direction 3-2, 2-1 and 1-N. Park and Reverse have no issues. Its the ratcheting portion of the shifter when pull back on it, again pushing forward works just fine. When I pull back on it have to kind of shake it a bit from side to side to get it to lock into place. There is quite a bit of play/slop in the gear/mechanism things lol sprockets they might be called, not sure. The springs seem just fine and its a brand new shifter so I doubt anything could be worn out yet. Thing is, It worked just fine before I hooked up the cable and I know its not that because I have it synced up almost perfectly with the transmissions shift lever. To make sure however I disconnected the cable from both the transmission end and the shifter end and tried it and it still had the same problem. The cable is also tucked neatly away with no sharp bends in it as the instructions said to do so I know its not binding up anywhere either. Anyone else have this issue before? Any advice on how to fix it? Thanks all. :)
