Post subject:  Dwell Angle for an Unknown Supersix

I have a super six in my 70 Dart. Previous owner installed at some point. I don't even know what year it is other than it has the 2 bbl carb set up and the newer style peanut plugs. Ignition is points and condenser. What should the points, dwell and timing be set up at? thanks!

There is no points distributor data for this setup, you can set it stock for your year dart, and hope for the best...an EI setup would get the best tuneability and a better advance setup than a points distributor (and a late EI distributor would be correct for this engine with the correct curve and allow a larger amount of initial).

Good Luck,

My 63 service manual shows .017-.023 gap 40-45 degrees dwell and 2 1/2 degrees btdc timing.
