New to Mopar, so please forgive the possible heresy....
I just bought a '63 Dart GT with a pretty hack 833 four-speed conversion, and it appears to have an original pistol grip shifter.

REALLY don't like the look/feel/position of the handle itself and plan to change to something else; I haven't removed the pretty crude trans hump to see how/where the shift lever attaches to the linkage. It actually shifts pretty well with a short throw and positive action, so I just want to get an idea of what to remove without compromising the value of the parts.

Anybody interested in the lever/grip?

A pistol grip handle should bolt on. You can find dozens of different styles on Amazon and E-Bag.

How long and what shape handle do you need? I have a few laying around too.

Thanks for the motivation; I just pulled the shift boot up and noted the two bolts/clamp plate that locates the handle....looks easy enough to remove and replace.

I'm thinking about just a plain straight lever with a wood Brit or cue ball style knob. I had a '68 Pontiac Firebird 400 with a four speed/Hurst shifter and the "T" handle when it was only a few years old, but never warmed up to that either....too many import cars in my checkered past, I guess!

The car itself is pretty straight and rust-free, but I'm not planning a concours "correct" restoration. While not a big Mopar fan, I've always thought the early Dart's are very nicely styled, and would like to infuse as much euro feel into it as I can.

The previous owner did a bad hack job on the floor (tunnel hump is fabbed from a "No Left Turn" sign) and I'm trying to locate a source for an early A body tunnel hump. The AMD/Summit unit fits later cars, and the Brewer fiberglass copy is apparently no longer available. Any help would be appreciated!

Sorry; I forgot about this thread!
I have a local buddy with a Challenger who needed this shifter, so it's no longer available.

Apologies for my poor communication!

Marc
