Good day, I have already posted in the racing section...a friend sent another angle and a lot clearer video. This run was 15.14, the first run (NO VID) we went 14.87 @ 92.5 mph. I can hardly wait for spring, one of my best friends has a 72 Aussie Charger with the Hemi six and a 5 speed, it works good. We have been taunting each other about a heads up race. I feel like with some practice I might have something for him.

Thanks for the vid. :D

The mph says the car has more in it, and that is supported by the video. You appear to be losing a ton on the starting line. The constant up and down on the throttle at the tree is not good. It makes it hard to get a consistent launch, and also hard to get a decent light. Easy is your friend. :D

It will be interesting to see the results with the Aussie Charger. I had a guy busting my balls about how fast his was, but he never took it within 50 miles of a dragstrip. Those guys are like US Hemi guys, they keep quoting magazine tests from 40 years ago. :lol:

Yes and I am a Rookie to boot. I have a MSD 6A two step. I was just reading a reply on my other post about how Exner had his first limit hooked up. Ill get it wired in and start practicing launches until I get the best results.
On the street if it spins just a couple of rotations it doesn't nose over. I have noticed other vids of slant stick cars that more or less fall flat after launch and then recover and go.. I think it is a fine line with regards to launch rpm.
its all good fun that's for sure.

Yeah, I was anticipating hard use so I put good driveline parts in it. I always figured if I used a power adder I would already have strong parts.
I used a street/strip clutch and billitt flywheel from Clutch Master . I put a Richmond ring and pinion, a Tru Trac center section and stronger axles from Dr.Diff using Green bearings. He also supplied a driveshaft from Victory powertrain. Actually I got the original pistol grip from him as well. He is so good to deal with. Bought all the linkage from Brewers and made our own Z bar.
I installed Cal Tracs with 340 replacement springs which I had de arched. They have aluminum bushings in the leaf spring eye.
I also used Comp Eng frame ties and welded them in. DSI trans built the A833.
I have been really beating on it all summer and I don't have any slippage issues (so far).
Stick cars are twice as much fun IMO, but as you say PRACTICE.

I'm in the same boat love my stick shift! Slowly getting it dialed in to actually get a decent 60 foot out of it.

I am curious, what would be a respectable 60' in a mid 14 sec car. Both of my runs didn't show a 60'
What have you shaved yours down to?
Do you have any vids of your car launching?

My car has less engine, less weight and about the same gearing as yours. I have gone a best of 14.57 usually more like 14.70 or so at 93MPH. A good 60' for me is a low 2.00 or high 1.90 I think the best was a 1.97.

Ya 14's I would think a 1.9 or 2.0 would be a solid 60ft

Last time I had the car out my best was a 1.92 sixty foot without the 2step that run. I don't have any good videos of just the launch I should be hitting a test and tune the 7th at SGMP so hopefully new tires,clutch,caltracs and get my shocks dialed in will help my et's. This time hopefully I won't be killing tires on the 2 step launch.

Just for reference when my car was automatic with a 3,000 converter and minus the turbo engine it used to turn 9.6@71 or 72 in the 1/8 with a 1.9 sixty foot everytime

Thanks guys, I have a ways to go to get to 1.90's. But a goal to shoot for.
I have a few updates to do along he way, the most important item is a safety bell housing. I have to revisit this and see what I can use, I have Hookers with a stick and starter in stock location. I could also change to hydraulic clutch cylinder if that helps. Any suggestions anyone?
