| Post subject: | Hurst Comp/Plus Compatability? |
Hi all, I've looked all over but as this is a pretty strange question it's difficult to put to words in a way that yields any results. I'm gathering parts for a 4 speed swap in my 73 duster, and I was given a Comp/Plus out of a 68 chevelle. While I realize that it might take some creative restructuring to get the shifter to an ergonomic position, I was wondering if it will function correctly bolted up to my 833. I have been told yes and I have been told no by many different people, some who swear it'll work and some who say it won't. Hurst themselves gave me a very ambiguous answer. Basically, what I'm wondering is, if I bolt this muncie shifter up to the a833, and put a set of a-body linkage rods on it, and adjust it accordingly, will it shift correctly or misbehave? Thanks |

So is it something adjustment of the rods could take care of or is it just not gonna work? Thanks |

The shifter body is different. The shift pattern is different, chrysler reverse is to left up, chevy is right down and ford is right up. |
