Are you running tue mopar boxs or the gm hei upgrade? I ask BC I bout an ignition module for an 80's toronado that has a 5th pin. When the 5th pin is grounded it will retard timing 5* crank. I plan to set at 23* total w a hobbs, grounds out and knocks me back to 18*. Its not much but would allow slightly more. Dont imagine it would be that hard to swap in. Also do some digging in here, theres a lot of threads I been reading regarding this timing thing. There should be one about "another timing..." Where Im last to post, been within last couple weeks too. Talks about the advance cans etc. My thought (or my setup will be) 5pin module, 23* max, and 11x can or better. Since 11 can will add 22. Could be wrong but Im sure you get the Idea Found it. http://slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=52907 |

im running the 4 pin gm hei. i thought the retard on the 5 pin was 10* i could and probably am wrong though. might have to dig through my stuff and find my spare distributors. im sure they are all different. at least one should have that 11x can. wondering if they make anything higher then that. never really got into the timing side of these things. always just advanced till it pinged and backed it off a little. cant do that now. |

My research shows 10* cam which is roughly 5 crank. Worst case, ill try it and document it in my build thread. |
