Can anyone tell me if you can use ES401 tie rod ends in place of ES319 TREs for early A bodies? looks like the angle is slightly different...thats about it.

Are you referring to taper of ball joint's stud?

Chrysler uses 7.5 degrees, other manufactures use a 10 or 10.5 degree taper can't recall exact number for the off brand auto manufactures such as GM, but it ain't 7.5; the two different tapers are not compatible. All stuff you probably could care less about... Sorry about that extra blathering.

Anyway, after looking up ES401 at Rock auto it looks to be the "Large Ball Joint" used on later model A Body and larger cars, and won't fit your car which requires the "Small ball Joint". The main fitment difference between the two being tapered stud is too fat to fit pre 1970 spindle; side by side the large joint is taller and has larger ball as well.

I think they will swap if you use the larger tie rods. Anyway, they fit my '67
