 Post subject: Water pump impellers

Hi there all,I have a choice of two water pumps to fit to a street driven cruiser type slant ...one is the OEM style pump and it has the original design impeller with a disk face,six blades and six holes about 5/16" drilled in the disk face. The other pump is the newer style open type impeller with six sheetmetal blades,open with no disk on the end. I'm sure both do the job just fine ,just tossing up which to fit.....any ideas? Thanks!

The closed impeller OEM design is more efficient and less prone to cavitation.
