After reading some posts and replys, it is clear just grabbing something off the shelf is not a good idea.

For my 66 D100 with 225 engine is there a combination electronic Distributor and coil I should be aiming for? This is a stock rebuild with fuel economy as a key factor.

Mallory is fine but the $400 price tag is a bit rich for this old man.

You probably should do a search for the HEI conversion

Actually the Mallory is probably one of the worst choices for economy.
As stated the HEI conversion is probably the best option. Use a Mopar slant six electronic distributer with a single pickup, and a vacuum advance unit. There are many different advance curves used, and getting the right curve would be hard to find. So you will need to modify the curve for your application.

You can still buy a brand new never used NOS dist, there is a guy on E-bay, cant remember his name or site but people here know whom I am referring too and may chime in.

I bought several from him so Id have back-ups, reasonably priced in my opinion at 100 dollars or so if I remember correctly.

Guy rarely answers his phone, dosent return phone calls and dosent answer E-mails from my experience but as long as you buy thru E-bay and use Pay-pal than I wouldnt sweat all that. He does ship fast and his descriptions have been honest from my experience.

Thanks, I will check it out, I have been leaning toward the Mopar electronic Distributor with HEI conversion kit. Typical price seems to be around $230 for new parts.

If possible get a dist from a mid 70s Dart/Valiant or Volare/Aspen. These often have a shorter mechanical advance curve and more vac advance - better for economy. Getting a new NOS one sounds good too.
