Hey folks, I just posted a couple of pics of my homemade sway bar mounts to beef up the ones shipped with my Addco front bar. These do not flex. Those mounts look great! I couldn't help but notice the hydraulic clutch setup in one of your pictures. Was that pretty straight forward to mount to the pedal and firewall? |

Yep, it was quite easy to mount. It's a Wilwood 3/4" MC from Summit - $62. Had to drill one hole in the pedal, and use a hole saw to make a hole in the firewall. Using that 1/4" rod (perpendicular to MC body) for stability since the firewall flexed a bit without it. Eventually, I may weld in a plate to strengthen it, but it is fine with the strengthening rod. I am so glad I went hydro on the clutch setup since it was way easier than dealing with the Z-bar and linkages, and gives plenty of room for exhaust, etc... I was about $300 for the MC and hyd. throwout bearing kits with shipping. Lou |

Lou, I work about a 1/4 mile from a u-pick-it type bone yard. Now that spring is finally here (I hope) I'll start takeing my lunch breaks and roam around with a /6 neck and see what I can find. This is a huge yard so I just might come up with something. C-Dog |

Cool. Let us know what you find. I'd take a Slant neck along for comparison, or just measure the bolt hole spacing and thermostat pocket diameter. These do not have to be exactly the same, but should be close. Lou |

Lou, Good news and bad news on the water neck search. Good news, I spotted one on an 88 5th Ave. with a 318, looks very promising. Bad news, I did not have the proper tools to remove and check. My wife bought me one of those gator grip deals, she thought it would be just the ticket for such occasions....in reality it is junk, but I would not tell her. I will try to remeber to bring the proper tools tomorrow, or if you have an auto supply or dealership near you you could check it out. I' ll keep you posted....btw an 82 Mazda truck is close but no cigar unless you want to try to relocate one of the bolt holes by a 1/2 inch or so. Drilling cast iron may by iffy. The thermostat fit fine. C-Dog |

C-dog, I know that at least the older Mopar SBs have waternecks that are too big, and I suspect that 88 will be the same. Keep in mind there is not a lot of space between the header/exh man and the side of the waterneck flange on the Slant. Thanks for looking and keep up the search! Cheers, Lou |

Lou, Here is the water neck off of the 88 5th ave. 318. It looks like it will work quite well. I looked up and it has the same gasket no. Felpro 35064as a slant. I did not look up thermostat but it seemed to fit just fine. The bolt holes are just a smidge too small but bolts will thread thru, shorter bolts are needed, the bottom bolt bottoms out so I did not tighten up all the way, didn't think of stacking washers until later, duh! The thermostat groove does not seem to be as deep but I think will be ok. I guess it will have to be tried on a running engine. C-Dog |
