Well I'm told this is the place to be for info on the /6. I'm building a 67 /6 Barracuda for spirited Summer drives and want to use the triple weber setup. I've had V8's and had a Galant VR4 turbo so to do things differently this is my choice. The expense doesn't turn me off.

So my question is what kind of head work is needed to keep up with a triple weber setup? Exhaust will be upgraded as well as drive train etc. I just want to know minimally what should be done to the head? Maybe a compression ratio to aim for? Larger valves needed? Cam? Port? All of the above? This is my first slant six and not a daily driver but will be a street and ugly show/cruiser.
Any info is appreciated. Thank You.

Others with more details will jump in I'm sure, but all Slant 6's can use more compression. I would say you will want to install larger valves and have the head milled to increase the CR. Then to take advantage of those upgrades a bigger cam would be next on the agenda. I will let others recommend the cam specs. I do know that the Webers really calm down an engine at idle even with a large cam.

What type of gas do you want to run? And is the car an automatic?

Rick

91 octane is as high and readily available as it gets around here. Currently a stock auto trans but will be doing a LBP swap with 8-3/4 rear.

I had my head cut .060 to get me to 9 to one static CR. 8.4 Dynamic with my cam so it should run on 87.

I too am looking at getting around 8.5 DC. Will most likely have the head cut and ported for larger valves this summer.
