looking for a suregrip 7 1/4 rear. People used to give them away for free. Or close to it. Just wondering if anyone in the seattlee area may have one for cheap or free. Thanks |

Huh. I have been messing with slant sixes for almost 20 years in the Seattle area and I have never seen a 7 1/4 sure-grip axle. Craigslist or boneyards are your best bet. Try all american classics. They will deliver! |

For sure you will not find one for free, and likely not all that cheap. They are just getting pretty rare. Rick |

A better alternative would be a Ford 8.8 axle. This swap has ben discussed on here before. |

Well they certainly made plenty of 7 1/4 sure grip rear differentials. Ive owned a few in my day. I guess they are not as plentiful as years past. Anyway, i guess ill take the 8.8 ford advise. What do those come in? And will they be the same width as early a bodies? |

I just put a Ford 8" rear out of a Granada in my Dart, at it works fine. I think the year is 1978. The early Mustang rear parts will fit it. Sam |
