Post subject: | Engine data |
I have a 1960 Valiant with a slant six. When I bought it the seller said the engine was an engine from a 1965 car. He said it was not the 170 that was in the car originally. How can I verify that? Where can I go to search the block/head casting numbers to see if it is a 170 or a 225? Thank you for the info on this in advance. |

The block on the left is a 170, the one on the right is a 225. The deck is much taller on the 225 block. CJ |

Bypass hose between the head and water pump is about an inch long on a 170. It's about 3 inches on a 198/225. |
