Here are photos of the process of cutting away hump and rebuilding with clearance. OD is in place with bags tied over to protect it. Console is from a 98 Honda Accord. Plan is to put TSM pumpkin mounted e/brake on eventually so wanted to mount handle that came with Honda console. This involved designing passenger side patch with step in it to mount ebrake handle. All metal is .620" aluminum which is quite stiff to provide needed support for ebrake handle.

Hump complete, carpet installed, ready for console and ebrake.Ended up replacing screws in side plate with pop rivets to avoid screws sticking out on back side . Protects and trans and hands when working on it.

I think I will use short screws on drivers side patch since I can no longer get on back side to back up rear metal for good compression of metal parts together.

More photos to follow. It will be done by the end of the week.Vacations are great. No drive shaft yet, and have not gotten the speedo drive into the unit yet. I will call them today later.

There is one more photo posted at the end of the previous posting of the hump in its final form awaiting the install of the ebrake and console. I documented this at the request of a couple of folks who requested in PM's that I do this and post it on the forum. This is essentially the same process I used for the T-5 hump expansion which sits under the current shifter. I hope it was useful to some one.

I talked to the tech guy at Gear Vendors about the speedo drive being tight and he said to sand it down slightly until it goes in. He stated they are always a little tight, so now I will proceed with that. AFter the speedo drive is in I can proceed with the electrical stuff, which is pretty simple actually, and then finally get the drive shaft made.
