I am unable to make it. A bit too far, and the Cuda is not back together yet. Still looking foward to seeing everyone, again, at Bristol. However I do expect to see a lot of pictures posted. |

Just made plans to go to Columbus, reserved room @ Motel 8 in Heath for Sat 16 & Sun 17. Ive been working on my 62 Valiant for past 2 weeks. Plan to drive it down & goto Charlotte for next weeks cup race. I'll try to talk to Jim Cox to find out what to do to register . I don't dare to race it that far from home (950 miles) but may enter if they are having a fun field Paint is not to good, 12 years old but alum block & hyper pack may make it interesting to some Hope to see you all there. Doug, yes the Valiant Has a 62 alum block SPECIAL head & orignal factory Hyper pack intake. I've driven the car for over 20 years. Has had many combinations over the years! Best was .100 over cast iron 12 to 1 compression big valve motor, ran 14.27 @ Englishtown w/ 3.91 gear & street tires back in 88. Ran constant 9.00's @ local 1/8 mile @ oxford Me. and has always been my everdaydriver. Just changed the car over to late 4 speed w/alum bell hsg & 3.09 first gear. Had to build trans from parts from 6 different trans, was running o/d 4 speed w/4.30 gears not really good combo ,much better now w/3.23. Are you coming to Columbus ? would really like to meet you. Lots of nice people there last year,( Cox bunch, Seymour , Becky,Meril, etc. wish me luck getting there, a lot like flying without a parachute ,driving a 42 year old car 1,000 miles @ interstate speed, but I have a lot of faith in the old girl Later Ron |
