Hello to all. In reguards to the 2-3 shift flare or " run away" swaping the valve body out fixed the problem. I must say thankyou to Doc. Dodge for giveing pointers and support.
What i did was build a small ratio LU 76? 904 and used hi ratio 4 planit gear LU 998? 79-81 guts. Why the 76 case? The 998 sprag had 3 rollers left BAAA HA HA HA..and this was an attempt to spend less $ and use what ive got. Both valve bodys had superior TF TC kits in them. Psi's where better that I expected when tested. Where I went wrong is useing the 76 valve body. (the 998 VB fixed flare) makes sense, but does anyone know the differance? The # 13 stamp in the plate cant mean mutch, because the onley differance I saw was around the acumulater closest to body there is a lube hole (i think) in the plate, 76 was small 3/16" 998 VB had more like a 3/8" hole. Other wise seperator plate and channels look the same. The valves in the 76 body look great and all move freely. havent doen spring mesuring or squeezy test yet. So... Does any one know what the 13 means? Also some LU moduels have purple or orange paint. why? what designation? Also one body (the part with the 7 balls) has a purple paint stripe. ?? Lastly the 76 has blue paint on the shift valve govenor plug plate. I supose this means they where checked and good to go. But does it?

I found that the limit valve spring is differant color, but that should affect the 3-2 part throtle kickdown. Also found that the switch valve was differant. The 2nd land in from the spring side had a step cut into it.
However I should be checking orfis size in the 1-2, 2-3 area of the VB aswell.
