Post subject:  Wanted: higher sift rpm @ full throttle. TF904

I have a 904 which I rebuild by replacing seal, friction plates and bands. I will keep stock turbine as its almost ok with my slant and 3.55 gears. Little bit improved 1-2 shift is what I like but a higher shift rpm in range 5000-5500 at full throttle is the trick which I really want. Aatrans have parts like modified governor weigth and spring assy. Are those plug and play and you get what you ordered?

Shift kit, governor kit, 1-2 shift point kit, kickdown band lever with higher ratio. Please help me with shopping list. I have sent a mail to aatrans but probably they do not give hints for invidiual customers.

Is the 2-3 shift point where you want it or is that shift early also?

I like to get both 1-2 and 2-3 be higher rpm. Same rpm is fine for both shifts. With my engine fun stsrts at 3000 rpm and if I (manually) let this shift at 5500, engine speed stays in the range. Probably little less like 5000 is fine for traffic light races.

It sounds like you mite want to call some aftermarket places on a differant wieght set up for the govenor. They should be lighter weights and lighter spring then what you now have. I would think some aftermarket weights would get you close to what you want. They should ask you what gear ratio, tire size, ect. I have a simular ishue but Ive got 2.45 rear 205 70 14s. 2-3 shift at 3000. So Im going to take 10 to 15% off the inner wieght with a valve stem grinder, because my 1-2 shifts are late compared to 2-3. (This govenor that im grindeing on is not a aftermarket set)
my 2 cents.
