Some have suggested getting an OEM cam used and doing a regrind, particularly using the oil pump gear that was mated to the cam in the original engine. Sounds like a good idea.

Q: I have DD oil pump, can I swap out the gear itself, or do I have to swap out the whole shaft plus gear? I understand there are many designs of impellers on these pumps, so how do I swap out the gear?

Are there no good aftermarket cams out there?, what about comp cams or other name brands, are they all junk?
