Hello, I found a new way to mount a turbo at the stock exhaust.without any need to weld into the cast iron. This is not finished just a prototype .. Her are some pics [img][/img] There will be a thick flange mounted to the three holes, and its possible to use stock gasket. [img][/img] [img][/img] It will be quite close to the rebuilt intake, but there is Little space to put some heat insulation .. And the plan with this are to use some kind of TBI injection.but carburetor is also possible. So the heated intake can be good for the fuel delivery. More even mixture. [img][/img] [img][/img] It was easy to weld into the cast intake, with cast iron welding sticks Have a nice day Thomas |

Cool idea. If the turbo does not have a built in wastegate you could use the original exhaust exit to mount one....wastegate that is! |

Interesting idea, Thomas. Can you tell us what you mean by "cast iron welding sticks"? Best, Lou |

I think Lou is curious about the specifications on the welding rods...cast iron welding rods are not as common here, most welders doing cast iron repairs tend to use Ni-rod (high nickel content), and it bonds a little better when using dissimilar metals (cast iron vs. cold rolled iron stock).
