Non slant question. I have a glacier in front of my house. I haven't been to work all week. They called to get me in tomorrow. The Toyota spun long enough to put me in a small ditch. 3/4mi of ice with a steep grade at the end. Will bleach help on ice? I would rather sit until Saturday and wait for the 48* and rain to get out. |

This is TN no chains in the stores. I was thinking even a light 300lb rated dog chain held on with a clevis just poke it through the wheel holes two on each tire. I guess I can walk 8mi to Lowes............not!

No, bleach will make the situation much worse, and it will also severely degrade your tires. Get sand, gravel, that kind of thing. |

Spread some sand, dirt, or kitty litter in the hole around the tire. After that, drive slow on the ice and be safe. Carry some 50-100 pound bags of sand in the trunk/bed to add weight over the grip wheels and to spread out as traction when needed. Go slow and when you start to skid turn into the skid and pump the brakes. |
