Good morning wonder if anyone would give me some insight into what is going on.

72 valiant neutral safety switch was giving me an issue so I replaced it adjusted the linkage now neutral safety switch works but backup lights are not working no matter what I do I'm getting no voltage to the lamps.additionally I also changed the dimmer switch because it had frozen up and the headlight switch because when it was jiggled I would lose my dashboard lights . after changing those parts I still got no dashboard lights and now there's an issue with the headlamps. Sometimes the headlamps work, sometimes not. I am going to try to clean all the connections. IPA has a contact cleaning kit which I believe I will order ASAP thanks for any other thoughts

Check wire harness connections at bulkhead connector, driver's side kick panel, and clean ground path at back-up light lamp holders.

Could be there is also a poor connection at headlight switch. Remove and clean all wire connectors at switch making sure that once reassembled all brass connectors are fully seated on switch contacts.

Sometimes when reconnecting old dirty multi connectors one or two female brass connectors within plastic connector won't make connection to its mate because little locking tab got bent making it unable to be secured in its plastic housing. Also female brass connector may become sloppy needing a little crimping to tighten up its fit over male spade.

I once chased a backup light intermittent illumination problem with my Dart equipped with automatic floor shift mounted I console. After tracing electrical path from stem to stern I discovered Chrysler's factory jumper harnesses which extends stock harness from column shift to console had a bad crimp in one of the connecters housed within passenger's foot kick panel. A new female brass connector replaced the old, and fix the problem.
