Oil Filter Wix 51515 should be plenty enough for you...

Plugs: NGK-UR-5

Points or Stock EI :.035 gap...

Running performance coil/wires/GM HEi Module or Mopar Orange Box: gap at .040 - .045

He needs to determine of he has an oil pump standpipe or the threaded nub, 51515 if a standpipe or 51806 if no standpipe...

51773 is the bigger filter, 2qts. Comes all the way up to the head and then a bit. Watch your fluid level with this guy.

I've come to dislike the pump with standpipe built in. I'd much rather use no standpipe on the pump and have a 51806 - makes oil changes less messy.

I would dry test this guy, some of the oil pump castings are a little off and although some of the block castings have a little "dip" near the head to clear the taller filter, if the casting is off a little you can not be able to get a good grip on it to get it off... on the melling pumps I've had a few that were a little tight with the 51515...OEM casting-no problem.
