as i understand it, the cables are specific to the car, with differences occurring between years on the same car, depending on how the factory routed the cables for that year |

thanks for the reply. another question,. I understand the 65 cable tranny had no rear pump, but also have some tell me the 65 was a cable job, buy slip yoke, and some tell me it had but one cable!??????? |

Quote: I understand the 65 cable tranny had no rear pump,
That's not correct. Every cable-shift transmission, including the '65s, has a rear pump.Quote: some tell me the 65 was a cable job, buy slip yoke
No, the cable-shift transmissions, including the '65s, have a bolt-on flange output, not a slipyoke type.Quote: some tell me it had but one cable!???????
No, the '65s have two cables -- one shift and one park -- just like the '60-'64 transmissions.

Dan, along these same lines, do you happen to know the application of a cable shift slant six 904 with a tail shaft approx 7 inches longer then the "A" body units? |

My best guess: B- and/or C-body. |

I had thought maybe that long tailshaft /6 tranny was for an A100, but recently a guy that has several said they have a tranny with a thing on top to hold it in place instead of the usually crossmember! Mopar, something different for every year, model, and configuration!!??? LOL |

from what I understand the SB 727 will work in a 64 dart if I only take care of the pinch weld interference????? I really don't want to change the tunnel. is this correct????? |

Every car company ever, parts designed and configured appropriately for the application.
