Post subject:  distributor vacuum control valve

Ok, I have a 66 valiant 200 with a 225 slant 6. It has a 76 distributor with the electronic ignition, (curious about the power curve and the difference of years between the motor and distributor), but it also has the CAP system. The distributor control valve make a slight sucking sound when I let off the throttle, does it simply need adjusting or is it leaking? Sorry if I haven't supplied enough info, if so please let me know and I'll try to fill in the gaps. Thanks in advance for any advice.

That noise is normal under deceleration -- it's why the green or black plastic cover is snapped on (it may be missing on your valve). See here for full info about this valve (and a link to adjustment procedures).

I was hoping that was the case...thanks. seems like there aren't a lot of folks that even know about it.
