Found the problem. the carb I was trying to use was from a 360. Somehow ended up in the wrong parts box. DOH!
Located a 318 Carb, and amazingly enough, it seems to fit
Anyone need a rebuilt 360 Holley carb?

I have a super six, with the stock carb (sux) and a Holley 2BB (8450A, 4095919, 1958) From a 318. Does anyone know where I can find the correct adapter plate. The linkage on the carb is located in all the right places for a Super 6, but the base is larger. |

If it came off of a 318, it'll bolt right on, the 2bbl carbs were the same on a slantsix and 318. Justin |

it is definitely larger than the intake, the numbers on the carb are 8450A 4095919 1958. (does this sound right?) It came with a disassembled 318 I bought with the car, the linkage is all in the correct place, so I assumed it was the right carb. There's no way this is going to attach without a conv plate. |
