Post subject:  IHRA tracks' new helmet rule
my local track is asking that all helmets be snell 2000 or newer to satisfy the new IHRA rule.

fortunately mine is snell 2005, so I should get some use out of it before it goes obsolete.


the local track is also saying that all race cars... (not street cars) will be required to have an engine diaper for next year.

I think they just brought the helmet rule in line with the NHRA.

As far as a diaper goes, NHRA is any car 9:00 or quicker I believe. The track is probably trying to be pre-emptive, and save cleanup time. Somewhere I have a link for a guy who does custom ones and is fairly inexpensive. I will most likely put one on the Daytona if I ever finish it. :lol:

Yes they are trying to be preemptive. . They said they are going to try to organize a group buy for interested racers.

Their clean-up times are the slowest I have ever seen.
