Post subject: | The right throttle linkage? |
I was having an issue with my 904 shifting too early and not kicking down during heavy acceleration. I grabbed my service manual and opened the hood. The upper pin was disconnected which was an easy fix. I started to go through the steps to adjust the linkage and it did not match the chart for the Dart in 67. My linkage looks closer to the one pictured for the Coronet slant. Will this cause issues in my car or should I just adjust the linkage using its specific directions? |

No problem -- the linkage doesn't know/care what kind of car it's in, just what engine/carburetor's at the top and what transmission's at the botttom. |

From my recent experience with adjusting throttle valve linkage, i think the main key is to take out the slack, so that when you're not on the gas pedal, the valve is closed, but as soon as you press the gas, the throttle valve begins to open in proportion. |
