So I have a 1966 plymouth belvedere II with 225 /6 and 904 automatic transmission. I replaced the motor mounts roughly a month ago with no issues. Recently I changed the tranny mount and now my exhaust seems to be hitting the crossmember and causing a hell of a racket while driving/idling. I am kinda at a loss as to what has happened, the only thing i can think is perhaps I have the wrong mount back there, one that is maybe too large? I used anchor 2272 mount. Was there a difference in trans mounts between A and B bodies? Starting to lose it! hahaha |

Exhaust system was installed when car had sagged mounts. You installed new mounts, which restored correct engine/trans height (lifted them higher). Now pipe hits floorpan. You might see if spacing the headpipe down from the manifold outlet with a "flange and gasket sandwich" might buy you the clearance you need. |

wow that was the first thing i thought, any clue as far as locating a flange spacer? I know where to get my gaskets (remflex) Thanks for all your knowledge Dan! |

It's a pretty standard part used for fabricating new exhaust headpipes...just a correctly-sized, correctly-spaced flange with two bolt holes and one central pipe hole. But the sizing must be correct or else it's easy to create leaks. Couldn't tell you exactly where to buy one, but a quick web search should turn 'em up. |

I was looking for those common flanges.too. auto parts store ( o reilly) had some for like $50 ea! LOL ordered some off feebay seems like $10 and 2 for shipping. I get tired of bending over!???? |
