A press, or at least a vise and some sockets. Be sure to dig the old bearing shell out of the front eye. When I replaced the bushings in the spring in my brother's Duster I also ran a wire brush mounted in a drill motor through the front spring eyes to soothe them out and clean them up before putting in the new bushings.

I heat the outside surface of the spring eye with a propane torch until the bushing rubber loosens up (after starting to burn on the outside), then push out with a screwdriver or a wooden dowel. Takes 10-15 min. Watch out as the goopy hot rubber can get all over the place, and burns you properly if it gets on your skin. I have done this 4-5 times when switching to poly bushings on new or used springs.

Ahhh yes, Spring skiing and Petex candles, such fun.

Used to race GS in collage, and beat the snot of a new pair of skis every year until they delaminated about the end of February/ first of March at which time I would epoxy them back together for rocky spring skiing, and I though that was an expensive habit back then. Compared to the old car bug, it was chump change. LOL
