This is (I believe) the high speed air bleed. It has 3 little holes about halfway up. Interestingly, it has a hole at the bottom but it has been plugged by a a small amount of solder. Does anyone know what the benefit is to that either remaining plugged or not plugged? I know it's an odd question but it seems like it was originally designed with a hole and then was plugged later.
Thanks

I don't have an accurate answer for your question, but I do have this stab in the dark: the factory but the solder on there for a reason. I suspect that the solder on the bottom of the tube is to seal the tube and direct all vacuum/airflow/fuel flow through the holes the side of the tube. The tube is likely a tube because that is how it was most cost effectively manufactured but the solder had to be put on the bottom to seal it.
