old track clarenville dragway 1/4 mile closing, new track eastbound dragway 1/8 mile will be associated with IHRA and the super pro class is going electronic box allowed. they are going to bring in the rule and safety changes over time to allow car to catch up. I don`t know what it is going to be like to foot brake against a box car? also have anybody run IHRA rules? can you give me any heads up on what I might have to look out for? clarenville track used NHRA rule but loosely so not sure how this will affect me. thanks for any imput.

Generally IHRA rules follow NHRA fairly closely. There are some exceptions, but usually not until you get to 9.99.

Footbraking against a box car is no different than footbraking against another footbrake car. If you're late or off your dial you go home. :D

thanks just wonder what the big advantage was because it seem it`s only the fast car in the class that are pushing for these changes so when they go to the mainland tracks they have their car dial-in for box racing.

The fast guys will want it if it is what they are used to.

A box is really a tuning aid, especially if you have a fast leaving car that goes red easily footbraking. It is not a miracle that makes great drivers out of everyone.

Plus, the fast car will usually have it set up so they get 2 shots at the tree, leaving on your light and theirs and the box decides which one was faster.

thanks, we were told that the crossover style, that let you leave on the slow car light, wouldn`t be setup for that.
