I am installing a duel Master Cylinder from a 75 Dart in my 63 Valiant.

The 63 Master Cylinder is the original single pot MC.

I have removed the pushrod and am ready to install the new MC.

My question is:

On the 63 MC there was a rubber dust boot over the push rod that fit onto a plate that bolted to the back of the MC.

On the 74 MC, there is no place to attach the plate. With out it, I don’t know how to attach the dust boot.

Is the dust boot needed in the newer MC?
