I have been having unusual electrical problems with my 62 Valiant. Sometimes when I would start the car nothing connected to the accessory terminal on the ignition switch would work, the car would go down the road as normal but there would be no instruments or radio, I don't remember if other accessories like the electric fan worked or not. This could be cured by jiggling the key. I also noticed several times that the radio would stay on after the key was removed. So I changed the ignition switch, I haven't driven it very often since but I have not had to jiggle the key yet. However today I noticed that the radio still stays on. It looks like the instruments also keep working. When I put any load on it in this state it kills the instruments and the radio. Any ideas as to what is happening? |

Another faulty ignition switch, or a graually worsening short in the ignition switch multi-way connector or the wires connected to it. |
