Post subject: | 63 Rubber and service manual questions |
I have a factory service manual, but there is not much information about the rubber seals around the windows. I have a Signet 200, which is a 2-door hardtop. I don't see the rubber piece that seals top top edge of the side windows. There is an illustration of the Door Glass Run Channel, but the 2-door hardtop doesn't have a metal frame around the glass. Is there a separate Body Servicing Manual for 1963 ? Is this piece available? I don't see it at Steele Rubber. Can a universal piece be modified to work? I also should replace the inner and outer rubbers that keep the windows from rattling and limits water getting into the door and body. |

I notice the same part for my DeSoto that was at Steele at Christmas is no longer listed. I would call them. These guys were a super help with my winshield rubber http://www.rubbertherightway.com/ Very reasonable/cheaper than Steele. The rubber you referring to is complex and hard to duplicate. It runs from the bottom of the rear window all the way to the bottom of the vent window. I may have some for you from my 65 |

What do the outer window seals/wipers that prevents water from running down the glass into the door/body look like? These guys were a super help with my winshield rubber http://www.rubbertherightway.com/ Very reasonable/cheaper than Steele. I may have some for you from my 65 Are they rubber with a fuzzy outer layer or do they have a rubber surface? Mine are gone and rain is getting in. ![]() |
