Post subject:  Brake line kit question

Hi Folks, I am going through my brakes for my car and have found this flexible brake line kit on ebay and I am wondering if anyone has used this before and what their experience or comments may be on them. Also any caveats to look out for.

Thanks
John

Buying bulk line from NAPA and making your own would probably be cheaper. Especially if somebody thinks they need them more then you and bids the price up.

Thanks, Ive been checking them and the one up for bid is only a buck and a half more.
I did the bulk brake line upgrade on my other car and bending to get into the tight places while on my back under the car was a real pain so I thought this might be a better way (read that easier for my old body!) than bending the bulk stuff.
Thanks again!

I have never used that kit but the price sure is attractive. Worst case scenario, I have a tubing bender and a double flare tool you could borrow to make up your own lines.

But $53 sure sounds better than hours of futzing around with a tubing bender and flare tool on your back!

Skip steel line entirely. Read this entire thread.

I don't think that kit is steel line. Title just says metal. Description says
Quote:
These maliable lines are easy to bend or coil without collapsing the tubing or restricting the flow of brake fluid.
And pic a bit below that shows it being bent by hand.

Thanks for the info guys. I surely like the idea of a long lasting and easily bendable line. Especially when it comes to buying more expensive one use tools.
By the way the listings I find online show the other suggested lines as being Nickel Copper alloy so no steel but they support the high pressures ratings.
Cheers.
